JJ`s Snack Shack in Rockport

We were looking for a quick burger and fries meal. JJ's did not let us down. The Lone Star burger with jalapenos was great ,as well as the cheeseburger. Homemade burger and fries hit the spot.

I highly recomend this place. The owner puts 110% effort in to get quality ingredients. He will hancut potatoes for fries to order. The hot dog was amazing as well as the toppings. Many menu items are creative

Amazing! So glad we stopped here. Everything on the menu sounds delicious. We had the Lonestar burger and fries, and Lobster Nuggets and Hush Puppies. The food was absolutely awesome. Milk Shakes are really good. John was super friendly and had some great tips for places to go around the area.

Just unbelievably good! The menu is extensive for a snack shack. I got a steamed burger and it was the best burger I have ever had! I highly recommend.

If you are all for roadside shacks, this is one that you should not miss! JJ's snack shack has like 4 or 5 pages of menu items, maybe more! Two of those pages are dedicated to amazing burgers and Hummel's hot dogs ( a full page of each! ) They have a full page of stuffed baked potatoes (Jacket Potato's for you Brits) with any kind of toppings you could think of. They also have some of the best whole clam bellies I have ever had!) And of course Lobstah! Fish and chips are on the menu as well as a whole lot of other great stuff! They also have deserts too! And best of all, the owner is pretty awesome too!

This place was average at best. We tried several lobster shacks in the area and this one disappointed. The lobster roll was OK (about half the lobster of competitors) but the fried clams I got seemed like they came out of a grocery store frozen food section and my daughters lobster taco shells were burned. Portions were small and the place was very run down. The owner was a nice guy but we would not recommend this place. Drive an extra few miles to the lobster shack named after a part of a lobster arm and you will not be disappointed. Could not figure out how this place got so many five star reviews unless their hot dogs are so much better than their seafood. Go figure!

Amazing food and friendly service!

Great little roadside place to eat. Had the jalapeño burger and is was awesome. Good food at a great price. Only downside is the driveway, it’s small and most people don’t see or read the signs that you enter on the north side and exit on the south. Just enter on the right and then exit on the right when you leave and you’ll be fine.

I went here to grab a quite bite to eat. The food was amazing! Wish I got more! I got the Texan dog and my brother got fries! The hot dog was delicious! It was very big and filling! And the fries were very good! You can tell they are homemade! Overall there is a huge selection of food for anyone And the owner was very friendly! Definitely coming back! I 100% recommend !

Food was AMAZING, cook was super friendly and made us feel right at home. Don't miss this place if you're in the Rockland area, it was some of the best food I had when I was up there last summer.

Best take-out stand in the state of Maine. The food is great, the menu is large and the service is fantastic. The parking lots is small and there isn't a lot of space here however, that just makes for a more personalized experience. The owner is super friendly and has a great taste in food. Once again, the variety is fantastic and the quality is very high. I haven't had anything I don't like here. The biggest downfall about this place is that it is closed in the winter. It makes sense but I just want to eat here all the time. If it gets busy, sometimes it can take a little while to get your food but that is pretty understandable. My favorite hot dog is the Thai Pooh Bear. There is peanut butter and Thai sauce on it. It is really great food. I am kind of sad that I am still writing about this place because it makes me miss it more because I am not there right now. Very dog friendly!

The service was extremely friendly and tentative. The food was outstanding. We ordered two different speciality hotdogs and both were made with top notch quality and care. Prices were very good as well.Highly recommend and will be returning!

This is a great place to grab a bite. The owner usually works alone and the menu is huge. There are so many options and he makes them all with a smile. I got a cheeseburger and it was made perfectly and so cheesy. Prices are amazing. It was super busy right before we got there and he made everything as quickly as possible. He is so kind. He even gave us some hush puppies for free for waiting so long, which he didn't have to do, but he insisted and it was so kind. I would definitely stop there again!

Every time my husband and I drive by, we always thought about stopping, but had already ate. Today, we finally stopped in and were not disappointed! This place has been recommended to me so many times, and the food was great! Everyone tells you to hit up Wasses, but this place has the best hotdogs! Not to mention, the menu is extensive and includes vegan options! Lots of dishes are tailored to regional cuisine, so if you're missing a po'boy or a coney dog while you're traveling here in the Midcoast, stop in and feed that craving here. The guy who owns this place was super nice and checked in on us while we ate and engaged in friendly conversation. There aren't a lot of places to sit and eat, while you're here, but don't let that deter you - he can make the food to-go. Prices are incredibly fair, including the price for a lobster roll when you compare to all the other locations around here that have them. Give this place a shot, you won't be disappointed!

I've only tried one thing but I have nothing but good comments!! I've been craving hush puppies since I moved up here and I couldn't fine any. I stopped here one day and they sold fresh and homemade hush puppies which are to die for! They remind me of home which I LOVE. They're delicious, fluffy, sweet and a little bit of savory! Owners are really nice and welcome, I will definitely be returning.

Stopped for Lunch during a drive up the coast. JJ’s was great! Super friendly proprietor. Fried clam special was delicious. Clams were very tender. Perfectly seasoned hand cut fries. A great place to stop along the way

If you’re anywhere near Rockport, this is a must have. After just reading over the menu and having some short conversation with John (the man behind the window at JJ’s) it was evident that he’s passionate about what he does. It’s simple: He loves good food and loves to cook it for you. I had the best Haddock fish sandwich of my entire life at this joint. My fiancé had the fried catfish and said it was phenomenal. If seafood isn’t your thing, that’s ok! There are a TON of menu options. Probably 4 pages worth. The atmosphere of JJ’s felt like home - As if you were hanging out at a family cookout, enjoying the company and food. John goes out of his way to make sure every order is perfect, and that every customer is thoroughly satisfied. Basically: JJ’s Snack Shack is a badass food joint and a must-have if you’re ever in the area.
